My name is Wendalynn Donnan.
I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada to my parents who regularly listened to the Kingston Trio and Bobby Curtola. Of course, this led me to The Smurfs, Mini-Pops, and a little bit of Huey Lewis and the News. After buying my first CD (a Bach concoction) I knew there was going to be trouble.
Oh yes the trouble started. I studied Music at the University of Regina which led to other musical interludes by Mozart, Bellini and some groups or other. With all that studying I got out with a BA (Ordinary) in Music – which is to say “sorry you’re not good enough for the real thing, so we’ll give you this.” It was good enough to help me get my first job, I am proud to say.
I have spent the last few years trying to make sense of what it is I am trying to do here.
I am married to my husband Richard. We own a home in a small town in Saskatchewan called Waldheim, about 40 minutes north of Saskatoon (give or take). It is wonderful. It can also be tough. We do not have any children, and we actually don’t mind the fact that we don’t.
At some point we do choose to have shrubs which, if left on their own, could end up looking like unruly teenagers.
